City Connections Reflection

-What did you do well on the project?-
I thought I did well on gathering the information. Mostly from my mom and none from Wikipedia, all the facts that were probably true. The pictures were good as well, they were clear (as in 'not blurry'), were related to the words and wasn't something random like putting a banana when writing about historical factors (unless of course your country was a famous world-wide banana plantation) and they also explained a lot with out me having to tell you about it, like a picture of a statue of a man probably meant that you were talking about the emperor of a certain country. I thought the choice of words were good too because I typed just small sentences that probably explained as much as a giant sentence, this didn't keep the audience bored out of their chairs. I put just enough information so that the viewers got enough information about the country and just enough so that the viewers wouldn't fall asleep.

-What would you improve for future presentations/projects?-
I would have improved my presentation skills, when I was showing the slideshow to the whole class. I didn't really keep eye contact with everyone, I was to busy reading off the actual PowerPoint, which was also something I would want to improve. I should have kept eye contact with everyone because that way they (the audience) would here me the most effectively, but was looking at the slides thus, actually talking the the screen. I shouldn't have read off the screen because I look away from the audience and onto the screen so not looking at the audience and reading from the screen would be a Ying-Yang of bad habits when presenting, so I probably should have practiced more. Also, in the actual presentation, I should have added something special to it, like a video or a quiz or something that involved the audience, but I wouldn't worry musch about that.

My Learning Profile

I learn best when I see the people move around and by focusing on the whole picture rather than one small part of the picture. So I would look at the whole playground rather than just the slide. I also learns best when I connect the learning to my emotions.

I need to try and put together the pieces of information that I receive together in ways to make it more understandable to be a better learner.

The strategies that would help me in my learning would be to be less stress all the time. Most of my learning senses (auditory, communication etc.) is limited under stress and I also might feel clumsy and stuck.

I would like my teachers to know that I look at things with my left eye from left to right. Another thing I want my teachers to know is that I prefer not to follow instructions and would rather just imagine the results and doing what seem appropriate.

New Years Post

In humanities, our classes homework was to make a blog post about for new year. We were supposed to make a four paragraph post telling about two of our new years resolutions like learning something new. My class also had to write one talent that I had or something special about yourself.

One new years resolution I can think of right now is to start getting outside more. I thought this was fitting because I don't really get out much, possibly because I'm too lazy to get off my reading chair. I hope that by the end of the year I will become more active and get out more.

Another new years resolution I came up with was to get more organized. I chose this resolution because just today, it has occurred to me that my desk is a complete mess, books and pencils scattered everywhere and my book shelf is cluttered with books I had in 1st grade and little pieces of Lego and by the end of the year, I hope to become more organized and I hope to find a way to deal with all my junk.

A talent of mine is a very unusual one. I can mange to put my thumb behind my hand so it looks like a square angle. Not a 180 degree angle, not a 100 degree angle, not a 96 degree angle, but a square angle, like the corner of a square (hence the name). What's really strange about this skill is that I'm probably the only person in school to do it and another thing is that all my cousins (I think) can do it too. And probably in the past, my dad, uncles and aunts could do it as well. Strange indeed.
